trainer, who has worked at the Bell Schools in Norwich since 1986. I have taught a broad range of course
types and have been involved in a variety of academic projects and held
several responsibility posts. I have
produced teaching materials and presented workshops at international
conferences. Teaching, Teacher Training
and Course Directing Experience ·
I have held a six-month
post as Assistant Academic Manager and another six-month post as Course
Co-Ordinator at the Bell School in Norwich. ·
I have directed and worked
on a variety of overseas teachers’ courses. ·
I have been Course Director for Bell
off-site courses and have directed many closed group and one-to-one courses. ·
I have worked on many
CTEFLA or CELTA courses since 1994, many of which I directed. As well as courses at Bell Norwich, I have
worked in Melbourne, Australia. ·
I am also of course a
general English teacher with experience of a wide range of levels and types
of groups including Business English,
Cambridge Examination classes, ESP and some EAP. ·
I wrote two modules for an
online Business English course for the Bell Distance Learning Unit. ·
I have conducted action
research on vocabulary learning, the results of which I presented at the 1998
IATEFL Conference in Manchester and TESOL Paris 1999. ·
I also conducted research
into the teaching of spelling and as a result produced self-access materials,
a report, an INSET session and a magazine article. ·
I have written two
research papers for the Bell Curriculum Development Project, on the subjects
of vocabulary and homework. ·
At the Bell School I have
run several in-service teacher development sessions and given a workshop at
Bell Summerfest. ·
I have written teaching materials
including a set of tasks for use in the language laboratory, various
self-access materials, some Norwich listening and speaking projects and a
practice material pack for the LCCI SEFIC examination. Employment: July 91- Present EFL
