In the first of our fields trip, we went to Ely. This is the sixth little city in England. The name Ely is because before it was built it was surrounded by rivers that were full of eals.

There is a very big cathedral, that it would be much more beautiful if the paintings from the wall hadn’t been scratched after the catholic reformation in the Modern Age. We listened to de guide on a tour through the cathedral and finish our worksheets. The cathedral is huge, and has a lot of things, like an octagonal tower and the biggest Lady Chapel in Great Britain. This Chapel is very especial, because all the statues were chopped off and it was designed to have a 7 seconds eco.

After that we went shopping for about one hour in the centre of Ely, took some pictures and came back to Bell school.
